The next Battlefield game from Ripple Effect (previously known as DICE LA) is aiming to have "the most realistic and exciting destruction effects in the industry".
Although EA has been surprisingly quiet on the Battlefield front ever since the launch of Battlefield 2042 failed to light the world on fire as the publisher originally hoped, efforts to improve the game and bring it up to what fans hoped it would be have been going strong. Even with so much work still going into 2042, it seems that it's time to start looking forward to what the next game in the series is going to offer.
EA has been surprisingly secretive about what the next Battlefield is going to be all about but, thanks to a job listing for Ripple Effect, we do at least know what one of the game's goals is going to be. As reported by VGC and originally spotted by Tech4Gamers, a job listing for VFX Director at Ripple Effect recently went live and gave us a brief glimpse into what the future of Battlefield is going to be.
The job listing for VFX Director is fairly standard and doesn't reveal too much about the next Battlefield game, but it does at least hint towards what Ripple Effect and EA are trying to achieve with the game. Right underneath the section about the studio's "values", it notes that the team is looking for an artist to help create "the most realistic and exciting destruction effects in the industry".
This doesn't come as too much of a surprise considering that's one of the series' core tenants and one of the things that fans love about it compared to other first-person shooters, but it does at least confirm that the next Battlefield will be focusing just as much on destruction physics as other games in the series.
