If The Joker is returning in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it's unclear exactly how Rocksteady will pull it off. Those that have played through the games will know that The Joker is dead in the Arkhamverse. After abusing the Titan formula in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Joker suffered from a terminal illness that eventually took his life at the end of Batman: Arkham City. Joker still appears in Batman: Arkham Knight, albeit as a hallucination.
With Joker having been dead since the events of Batman: Arkham City, the latest tease from Rocksteady has left fans puzzled. Rocksteady recently shared an image of the Daily Planet as it will appear in Suicide Squad's open world Metropolis. The building has been given a Joker-themed makeover, though it's unclear who is responsible. Rocksteady promised to share more information on the revamped Daily Planet during its next Insider episode.
Rocksteady has so far shared two Insider episodes hyping Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The first episode focused on Suicide Squad's story and gameplay, giving fans a 20-minute deep dive into what they can expect from the game.
