The future of E3 is continuing to look bleak, but the games industry has seen the emergence of another major summer event in the form of Summer Game Fest. The event has been running for four years at this point and seen quite a bit of success, and unsurprisingly, it will be returning for its fifth year in 2025.
The same was confirmed by Summer Game Fest creator, producer, and host Geoff Keighley, who confirmed in a recent post published on Twitter that the live event will return next June, and will once again take place in Los Angeles. The exact date for the event hasn’t been revealed yet, but presumably, with several months still to go, that may not have been nailed down behind the scenes.
Over the last four years, a number of major titles have seen announcements and reveals at Summer Game Fest, including Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About in 2020, Elden Ring in 2021, The Last of Us Part 1 in 2022, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth earlier this year, among several others.
