After a Russian hacker threatened to release "tens of gigabytes" of stolen Stalker 2 data unless its developer changed its "attitude towards Russian and Belarusian players," GSC Game World has issued a stirring rebuke, vowing to continue supporting Ukraine "at all costs."
Earlier this weekend, a hacker by the name of NF Star posted messages on Russian social media claiming to have stolen Stalker 2 data. The hacker demanded GSC Game World "apologize for the unworthy attitude towards ordinary players" in Belarus and Russia and that Stalker 2 receive a Russian language translation. A Ukrainian developer, GSC Game World ceased all Russian localization and promised never to release Stalker 2 to Russian audiences following Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year.

In response to these demands, GSC Game World issued a statement on Twitter revealing it had been "enduring constant cyberattacks for more than a year" and that all attempts at "blackmail and intimidation" were "completely futile."
"We are a Ukrainian company, and like most Ukrainians, we have experienced many things that are much more terrifying: destroyed houses, ruined lives, and the deaths of our loved ones," the Stalker 2 developer wrote. "Our unwavering commitment to supporting our country remains unchanged--we will continue to do everything possible to support Ukraine. And this won't change in the future under any circumstances."
