Sony closed out Wednesday’s PlayStation Showcase with a lengthy Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay reveal, but it didn’t announce the title’s release date.
Instead, it reiterated plans to release Insomniac Games’ PS5 exclusive this fall / autumn.
Following the show, the studio took to Twitter to inform fans they won’t have to wait too long for more news on the game, including when it will be released.

“Watching your reactions today has been spectacular,” Insomniac wrote. “We know you have tons of questions about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and we’re eager to share more soon, including news about the release date, pre-orders, and accessibility features.”
Tony Todd, who plays Venom in Spider-Man 2, recently claimed that Sony is targeting a September release date for the game.
This is the same release window publishing sources previously told VGC to expect the highly anticipated title.
Insomniac confirmed earlier this week that Spider-Man 2 isn’t a co-op game.
“You’ll seamlessly switch between both Spider-Men across a variety of story moments in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” according to the studio. “We want players to bask in iconic team-ups elevated by our signature set piece moments, and experience the story from the perspective of each Spider-Man.”
