After Bungie decided to make Destiny 2's endgame activities much more challenging, YouTuber Datto has received blame from some members of the Destiny community. Endgame activities are the most significant source of gaining power levels in Destiny 2. While some fans have taken to various social media forums to voice their concerns over this bump in difficulty, a seemingly vocal minority are instead blaming content creators for ushering in these changes.
One of the strong points of Destiny 2 is the large selection of activities players can participate in for appropriately powerful rewards. In Destiny 2, players can either engage with each other in the Crucible and fight against AI combatants while fending off other invading players in Gambit, or take part in various PvE-focused activities such as Strikes, Nightmare Hunts, and plenty more. While the Crucible and Gambit have an element of PvP involved; the difficulty in aspirational PvE activities is only limited by player skill and team coordination. Even though Day 1 Raids in Destiny 2 still offer a significant amount of challenge, Bungie feels that other endgame activities have fallen behind thanks to players being extremely powerful.
