Sons of the Forest players keep having their treehouse bases cut down by Kelvin, everyone's favourite NPC helper that can't yet tell the difference between wooden homes and wooden resources.
Since launching in early access a few days ago, Sons of the Forest has become incredibly popular, seemingly breaking Steam for a while thanks to a sudden rush of players. One aspect of the game that has instantly become a hit is Kelvin, an NPC helper that follows you around and who can be ordered to do things for the player, like collecting resources and fighting enemies.

Someone as helpful as Kelvin is bound to make a few mistakes, however. It seems that the helpful lad isn't very good at recognising the difference between his home and the trees in the forest, as players have been reporting that their wooden bases keep getting accidentally destroyed by Kelvin when they send him off to collect logs.
One great example of this comes from YouTuber ZChumYT, who shared a clip of them playing Sons of the Forest with some friends. In the clip, the group can be seen standing on top of a wooden structure that they've made, before hearing a loud thumping noise coming from underneath them. ZChumYT jumps down to see what's happening, before seeing Kelvin chopping down one of the base's support structures, completely destroying it.
ZChumYT isn't the only one either. Over on the Sons of the Forest subreddit, Redditor THEYCALLMETYTY shared a gif of Kelvin cutting down a massive tree that was the base for a treehouse in progress, sending it flying to the ground before looking directly at the player and flashing a thumbs up. He knew.
