Reddit user JDGumby posted the image online, which shows Sigurd dead laying next to his chopping block and can be viewed here. The player confirms that it isn't due to vampire attacks, and that they haven't killed him, taking to Reddit to seek out theories for the mystery. It's very possible that this is a combat bug, of which Skyrim has plenty. One bug recently posted online shows Rolff being unable to get up after a brawl in Skyrim, with the combat system now showing its age. While it's unlikely this exact glitch has happened to Sigurd here, he could definitely have been a victim of Skyrim's glitchy game engine.
