The universe of Destiny has seen plenty of enemies players have done battle with across the stars, and while Bungie isn't bringing an entire new enemy race to bear in Destiny 2: Lightfall, a player shares their take on how to accomplish this in the following expansion, The Final Shape. Lightfall will see the introduction of a single new enemy type in the Tormentors, hulking servants of the Witness aiding in the invasion of Neomuna by Calus and the Shadow Legion. However, an entire new race does not appear to be on the horizon and the player in question wasn't shy in sharing their fatigue with the current races.
Destiny 2's current roster of enemy races are comprised of the Fallen, Cabal, Vex, Hive, Taken, and Scorn, with the first four being the foundational races introduced in vanilla Destiny. The Taken would be introduced in Destiny: The Taken King as twisted, altered versions of various units from the original four races. As for the Scorn, they would be added in Destiny 2: Forsaken and are zombified-Fallen resurrected, in lore, by the Fanatic with the use of Dark Ether.

As the Scorn and Taken have both been described as reskinned versions of existing enemies, some members of the Destiny community continue to ask and speculate as to when a fully-new race will be added to the game. Bungie has typically been quiet on this front, with the only hints to possible enemy races being found in random lore bits and early concept art for the original Destiny.
