While it is still early days in Diablo 4, players are starting to question how systems will work during Diablo 4's Seasons. During the recent Campfire Chat livestream, the Diablo 4 development team went over some ways that Renown will be easier to obtain during Season 1, such as allowing players to carry over any discovered map Areas or Altars of Lilith that were found in the Eternal Realm.
While these early Renown benefits will be a great convenience, players are still uncertain if they'd like to participate in Diablo 4's Seasonal content due to further Renown and character level grinds. Have You Finished the Diablo 4 Campaign? Complete Dungeon Side Quests for Renown Forbes writer, Paul Tassi, was unsure whether his characters on the Eternal Realm could help progress his Seasonal Battle Pass, once Diablo's first Season beings.
When many responders in the comments gave mixed answers, Tassi reached out to Diablo 4 General Manager, Rod Fergusson to provide clarity. As the development team has stated in the previous Developer Update live streams, players will need to level a Seasonal character in order to progress the Seasonal Battle Pass.
One reason that this requirement is in place is to ensure that players are not able to speed-level their Battle Pass on a level 100 character in order to unlock the various Season Blessings that will be unlocked as a part of Seasonal progression. While the thought of starting a new character from level 1 every three months might seem like a daunting task to some ARPG newcomers, veterans of the Diablo series and other games in the genre crave the thrill of starting from square 1 with everyone on a level playing field.
