It looks like Red Dead Redemption is finally headed to the PC, as a new update for Rockstar's launcher has included a file with a description of the title, as well as its zombie DLC, Undead Nightmare.
Red Dead Redemption is the one title that Rockstar doesn't seem too keen on bringing to PC. Even when the title was "remastered" and brought to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for the first time, fans were baffled as to why Rockstar didn't take the opportunity to finally release the title on Steam. Well, it seems like the developer is finally taking steps to remedy that issue, if a description recently found in the files of Rockstar's launcher is legit.
First spotted by Twitter user TezFunz2, a series of marketing strings were added to Rockstar's launcher after an update earlier today, which include a detailed description of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare, claiming both are "playable on PC." TezFunz2 then proves the legitimacy of these strings by providing the Rockstar launcher's backend description for GTA 5, and they're laid out almost identically.
Head on over to the Rockstar store, and you'll notice that Red Dead Redemption is listed there, but currently only for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. If this description found within the launcher is legitimate (which is looking very likely), we can probably expect an announcement from the developer in the next few weeks, though exactly when is up for debate.
It's possible it could be a small announcement during one of this summer's big showcases, with Summer Game Fest the likeliest of places for a possible showing, though we know how Rockstar likes to march to the beat of its own drum. You'll probably recall that GTA 6's first trailer, the announcement of GTA: The Trilogy, and the PS4/Nintendo Switch port of Red Dead Redemption were all revealed outside big events, so we can probably expect the same here.
