Starship Troopers: Extermination — a first-person adaptation of the cult classic movie series — is bringing the fight to PS5 on the 11th October. Primarily a co-op, objective-based shooter, Extermination will launch with a 25-mission single-player campaign when it comes to consoles. And apparently, more single-player missions will be added post-launch.
The campaign actually stars main character Johnny Rico from the first 1997 film (and a couple of the sequels), voiced by his original actor, Casper Van Dien. A nice touch.
The game has been in early access on PC since last May, and it's done rather well for itself, garnering positive user reviews. From what we understand, it can be a little rough around the edges, but the hope is that everything will be smoothed out for the 1.0 release.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
It’s funny Helldivers copied alot of what starship troopers was about. now Starship Troopers look like it’s ripping off Helldivers now
16 player co-op sounds interesting
I would like to know more.
Hah someone looked at Helldivers then who’s already looked at starship troopers
@BeerIsAwesome That comment, much like the film itself, will quite possibly go over a lot of people's heads
Helldivers is barely 4 months old and it's already getting copycats.
I'd buy that for a dollar. (Close enough)
@AdamNovice Helldivers is copying Starship Troopers though. This might be the one singular case where it's okay.
Oof, seems like this one's a pretty solid experience that has been in development for a while.
Must've stung when Helldivers 2 got
