As has been rumoured over the past couple of years or so, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is apparently going full action in terms of its combat system. That's according to Game Informer, who have an exclusive look at the upcoming RPG in their next issue.
The publication writes: «We visited BioWare's Edmonton, Canada, office for an exclusive look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including a look at its character creator, its prologue and opening missions, and more. We also spoke to many of the game's leads about the name change, the series' shift to real-time action combat, the various companions (and the relationships you can forge with them), and The Veilguard's hub location.»
Previously, leaked gameplay footage had suggested that the combat system had become more action-heavy, but a total shift hadn't been confirmed until now.
Dragon Age started out with real-time, command-based battles in Origins, harkening back to classic CRPGs. Dragon Age 2 was very similar, albeit slightly more involved, while Dragon Age: Inquisition pushed things a step further towards action, with full character control and revolving skill usage, not unlike what you'd find in a traditional action RPG.
New art style included
We'll get to see what The Veilguard is all about next week, when BioWare debuts gameplay footage. But until then, how do you feel about this combat change? Do a dodge roll in the comments section below.

A little too much, some might say.
Would be better if they allowed either/or like Pathfinder.
Basically everything that made Dragon Age great is going to be missing from this one.
I actually Welcome that shift after inquisition. As it didn't really do either combat
