PSA: Web Grabber is the most useful gadget to upgrade in Spiderman 2
It’s been decided: Web Grabber is the best gadget in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In Spiderman 2, there are four new gadgets that are all cool and useful, but myself and the community agree that Web Grabber is the best.
What’s funny is Insomniac Games knows Web Grabber is the best gadget in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as seen in it being an early unlock for those who pre-ordered the game. The second I’m able to, I use Web Grabber in combat and you should too.
The reason Web Grabber is the best gadget in Spiderman 2 is it controls the entire battlefield by grabbing four (which can be upgraded to six) nearby enemies and pulling them all together into one area. This is incredibly good for area control so you don’t get overwhelmed with baddies.
Once all the enemies are gathered together, I use the opportunity to use my abilities. Big AoE attacks like Venom Smash and Spider Rush are great here because they deal big damage to multiple enemies.
After farming Tech Parts, upgrading Web Grabber makes it even better. With upgrades, you’ll pull in environmental objects that deal even more damage to the collected enemies, you can pull in more enemies, and you can even throw the Web Grabber after it’s used as an electric projectile.
If I’m honest, the next best gadget in Spiderman 2 is Web Shooters, especially when paired with the best Suit Tech upgrades. They are great for quickly eliminating enemies close to walls or knocked to the ground. Plus, one shot from a Web Shooter completely eliminates a late-game green goon which is super powerful. But besides Web Shooters, Web Grabber is the ultimate gadget in this game.
I use all the gadgets in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 because they are all useful and fun. Upshot is great to get groups of enemies
