Konami has announced Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) in celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary. It will launch in 2024 in Japan.
Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025 is built on both Unreal Engine and Konami’s next-generation baseball engine “eBaseball Engine,” and will support up to four-player offline and two-player online multiplayer.
Unreal Engine provides the game’s next-generation graphics, such as the players’ detailed and realistic hair and skin, and the rain that wets the field.
eBaseball Engine creates a greater sense of immersion inside the stadium via the various motions of the players and realistic stereo sound. According to Konami, the engine “takes baseball games to the next level by producing all the motions and sounds from inside the stadium, including the trajectory of a struck ball, the players’ frantic movements, and the wild crowds.”
Additionally, using laser scanning technology, Konami was able to precisely measure the surrounding geometry of each stadium to recreate accurate stadium models within the game.
