Behaviour Interactive Interactive is recalling some changes made to popular Dead by Daylight Killer duo The Twins. The Twins are Dead by Daylight's brother-sister duo Charlotte and Victor, although only Victor's new powers are being recalled.
Charlotte and Victor are a pair of conjoined twins, with Charlotte being a fully grown person and Victor having extremely stunted growth and residing in a cavity in his sister's chest. Though there are two of them, The Twins are counted as one of the 35 killers players can take control of or try to survive against in Dead by Daylight. The Twins are listed as a Very Hard character to control and are only intended to be used by players who have a lot of experience taking down Survivors in the game, which they've traditionally done with a perk set that includes an ever-increasing range to their lunge attack, better pickups on noise detection from Survivors, and an advanced ability to make generators begin regressing.
But the power that sets The Twins apart is the ability to split them up, having Victor separate from Charlotte to pounce on a healthy Survivor, and once he's latched on, providing a movement bonus to Charlotte to allow her to catch up to the Survivor. As listed in a Dead by Daylight developer update, the changes to this set of powers, which are now being walked back, instead allowed Victor to pounce on dying Survivors and latch onto them for up to 20 seconds, preventing them from returning to an injured status while Charlotte zooms in for the kill. The changes had also removed the ability for Survivors to kick out of a grapple by Victor, although they could still crush him for a temporary reprieve, and fans had been worried that these changes had boosted them to one of Dead by Daylight's best killers overnight.
Dead by Daylight is still plowing ahead with other changes to the game and its DLC, but the exact changes being recalled after unrest by the fan community makes Survivor players injured once Victor latches onto
