An early Persona 3 Reload comparison video was shared online today, showcasing the differences between the remake and the original PlayStation 2 version of the third entry in the series by Atlus.
The new trailer, which was put together by Cycu1, puts sequences from the leaked trailer side by side with footage from the original PlayStation 2 release, highlighting how the visuals have seen a massive upgrade, as they are in line with the visuals seen in Persona 5. Character portraits during dialogues have also been overhauled, but most characters haven't gone through a massive redesign, something that should please fans of the original.
Persona 3 Reload was supposed to be revealed during the upcoming Xbox Showcase, but its announcement trailer got leaked early due to a social media mishap. The trailer confirmed that the remake is powered by the Unreal Engine, a first for the series, and that it will release sometime in early 2024. While the trailer doesn't list PlayStation consoles, there's no doubt the game will release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 as well, considering the series has been for a long time a PlayStation exclusive.
Persona 3 Reload launches in early 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and likely PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game will also be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass library at launch.
