‘Diablo IV’ player finds the closest thing to a ‘Star Wars’ crossover we’ll ever get

It’s no secret that Diablo IV and Star Wars are two different universes, totally separate from each other. However, that’s all about to change as one player found something special that just might unexpectedly unite the two franchises.

Reddit user u/Dimeberto called out Diablo IV after discovering something that seems to be similar to the Great Pit of Carkoon, which houses a Sarlacc, in Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi. The landscape and general appearance look similar to the one depicted in the popular sci-fi film franchise. Based on the footage, it didn’t seem hostile as the player walked around it, similar to the one seen in Star Wars.

Many players have come across this location in the new role-playing game, claiming that this specific creation is just an Easter egg placed by the developers since Star Wars is a popular franchise. However, neither Star Wars nor Blizzard Entertainment has commented on this Star Wars-esque location appearing in the game or the idea that a Sarlacc might inhabit it.

So far, no footage exists of anyone attempting to jump into the pit, but why would they? It took years for Boba Fett to get out of the hole in The Mandalorian. Imagine the struggle if a regular player were to follow suit. Either way, it’s pretty interesting that this Star Wars location and creature has made its way to the Diablo universe. Perhaps it is just a coincidence in the long run.
