Want to start by saying this isn't some picky I don't have perfect graphics complaint. Don't care about framerate and all that just want to casually play games like I have been. Long story short I cant play games that I was playing just fine up until a few days ago.
If I were to upload a picture of the issue it would be a tv where you can see some Diablo 4 in the corners and 3/4 of the middle of the screen just bright clusters of lines and circles. I thought it was the game but now I'm seeing that its all games, but not the homescreen or maps in game. Just got a new PS5 about 2 weeks ago.
I've been playing it a good bit at least 100 hours since then and out of nowhere its tearing or artifacting or whatever people call it. I've been playing elden ring, RE4, diablo 4 etc all on the default I guess 4k quality, hdr on, the normal settings for a new console and a 4k tv. So I don't understand why it's doing this now… I just don't see the point in messing with alot of graphics setting on the system and the tv when everything was fine and high quality before.
It started on Diablo 4 a couple of days ago, I thought it was an issue with the game but hopped back on elden ring earlier and it was doing it as well. It's not just some annoying thing that happens to make me mad about not having perfect quality, it's typically been making the games unplayable. On Diablo 4 roughly 60-70% of my screen ends up being just massively illuminated and i literally just cant see enemies or play the game in general.
Alot of bright lines and circles, doing the same on elden ring. I've tried some things like testing a new hdmi, hooking up to a different tv, letting the system cool off completely then playing. I didn't want to mess with settings much
