Hi. Does anyone know if a region free Blu ray will play on PS5? Ive read conflicting information on the internet so far. Thanks in advance for any help provided.
@Neill I believe region locked for standard Blu-ray films, but not Ultra 4K Blu-rays. If you find out with certainty otherwise, let me know, as I would like to watch Beyond the Black Rainbow!
Edit: games I understand to have no region lock.
No first hand experience though, so perhaps does not help.

I don't know about PS5 as a player specifically but blu rays are a mishmash
Some are region locked and some aren't despite what they may say on the case.
Of course this is anecdotal and I've only tried a handful but I've found the following to be true:
20th Century Fox — I've tried 3 US blu rays from fox and all of them were region locked and unplayable on a UK player (series X in this instance)
Disney/Paramount — not sure who handled the release of The Avengers as it was at the point Disney had bought Marvel but Paramount still had distribution rights for the first 5 or 6 films — this US blu ray was region free
Warner Bros — I have a few US copies of DC animated films and these are all region free
Sony (I think?) — I have the US blu ray of the spectacular spider man series and it's region free
That's my experience, of the 20 or so US blu rays I've tried, only blu rays from Fox have been region locked.
No idea about UHD movies and I've never had a DVD that was region free
