Disney Speedstorm has been playable on PS5 and PS4 since April of this year, albeit in an early access capacity. Players would need to pay to gain access to the almost-but-not-quite-complete version of the kart racer, but this period of the game's existence is coming to an end. Developer Gameloft has confirmed the official, full, free-to-play launch of the title, and it's coming pretty soon.
Speedstorm will be arriving on 28th September 2023, concluding its early access phase and moving to a free-to-play model. If you purchased a premium founder's pack to play the early version, you'll of course be able to continue playing past this date and retain any bonus content.
«Since the launch of Early Access, we’ve received invaluable feedback and support from players, which have been instrumental in shaping Disney Speedstorm into the incredible racing experience it is today,» game manager Aska Suzuki says. «Our incredible community's enthusiasm, dedication, and love for the game have been our inspiration from day one, and we can't wait to continue this journey together as we enter this exciting new phase.»
