@nessisonett surprised me on commenty fair play to Celtic
@nessisonett it's a great stat because I didn't realise that
@QualityGeezer Hahaha I’m the first to admit that it was a different era of football though, their achievements are already being underplayed by the wider community and it’ll end up a sad factoid, like Preston North End winning the First Division back in the 1890s. You basically just need to decide which despotic nation to sell your club to these days if you want success so we’ll see what comes of these charges they’ve brought against City.
@nessisonett the Scottish league is poor in fairness but so are alot of league's, Ajax couldn't do it nor Barca or real so fair play to Celtic
I can't be the only person who thinks Declan Rice is worth £100m? Ridiculous evaluation. He'd be worth less than half of that if he wasn't English.
@KAIRU I get what you mean but ultimately nobody is worth anything except that which others are prepared to pay. Footballers transfer fees have been outrageous for a long time now.
I imagine they will try to tie him to a 5-year deal and think of it as a £20m per season outlay. And £20m a season for one of the better holding (potential box-to-box) midfielders is not that big a deal. Given that he is also a potential future England captain and home grown players are useful to have for European competition squads I can see why the value is as high as it is. Caceido is valued by Brighton at around £70-80m so it's not that much higher considering the experience he has in the Premier league.
Also consider how much West Ham themselves are about to write off on Scamacca after one disappointing year or how much Kalvin Phillips cost (reported about £50m) despite not playing hardly at all last
