Sony to Sell Charity Pack in MLB The Show 23 to Help Build New Negro Leagues Baseball Museum | Push Square
Sony launched a new initiative named Storylines in MLB The Show 23, which is a fantastic documentary-style mode detailing the history of the Negro Leagues. This mode, created in partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, is narrated by president Bob Kendrick. Recently, he announced plans to build a brand-new, 30,000-square-foot Negro Leagues Baseball Museum campus adjacent to the Buck O’Neil Education Center, which is “housed in the former Kansas City Paseo YMCA, the historic building where Andrew ‘Rube’ Foster established the Negro Leagues in 1920”.
And now you, along with PlayStation, can help contribute to the project. Starting today through 30th June, in the US only, the platform holder will be flogging a Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Charity Pack within MLB The Show 23 for $4.99. “PlayStation and San Diego Studio will donate 100% of the proceeds from this pack after store platform fee deductions are applied to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum,” explained Steve Peer on the PS Blog.
The pack will include a bunch of bat skins, a profile banner, and 6,200 Stubs, so you do get a decent return on your investment. This is all in addition to the $1 donation PlayStation has pledged for every Collector’s Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition sale of MLB The Show 23 this year. Peer concluded: “We couldn’t be more excited to continue our ground-breaking partnership with the museum and its goals to educate, enlighten, and inspire. By celebrating the rich history of the Negro Leagues, thank you!”
