We went into the Capcom Showcase expecting more meaningful Dragon's Dogma 2 info, but quite frankly, we got bugger all — save for several seconds of fresh gameplay footage. Thankfully, a post on the PlayStation Blog reveals a morsel of actual news, in that the action RPG sequel will feature an open world roughly «four times the size of the original».
The map in the first Dragon's Dogma isn't huge by today's standards, but it always felt well defined, and it was fairly memorable. Given that Dragon's Dogma 2 will take place in the same region of Gransys — with additional bits bolted on, like the desert-based location seen in the gameplay trailer — we're expecting an equally enticing fantasy world.
What else do you want from Dragon's Dogma 2? How do you think the open world could improve on the first game's? Plan your adventures in the comments section below.
Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
DD2 can basically be the same as the first game but more modern and it'll still be amazing. Anything else will be a bonus. It already had satisfying and deep combat that changed impressively based on your class. Exploration was rewarding. The pawn system was surprisingly deep. Loads of lore and world building. Unusual things like being able to marry any NPC and make fake copies of items to complete quests while keeping rare or unique items. I can't wait to see what new stuff they come up with.
So give us the fast travel option plz
@2here2there I like the Ferrystone system. It really gets you familiar with the map.
