The Assassination of Amber Kearnen - Troubling Quest in Patch 10.1.5
A series of new dailies in patch 10.1.5 takes us through time, correcting various anomalies in the timeways. In one, we are required to ensure Amber Kearnen's assassination happens as planned.
The Assassination of Amber KearnenAmber Kearnen was a high-ranking member of SI:7, the Alliance's secret service. A questgiver since Cataclysm, she played a major role in the Alliance campaign in Mists of Pandaria and was a popular character. During the events of Legion, she was found dead in Dalaran with a knife still in her back, clutching an SI:7 Missive. Her death motivated Lord Jorach Ravenholdt — leader of the Uncrowned — to have rogue players investigate the SI:7 during the Rogue Order Hall campaign. This led to the discovery that Master Mathias Shaw himself ordered the murder. Their investigation went on to reveal that the SI:7 had been infiltrated with Nathrezim — who had kidnapped the real Mathias Shaw and were impersonating him — it was a dreadlord, disguised as Mathias, who'd ordered the murder. Though she died, the encoded missive Amber was carrying helped uncover this conspiracy. In the Eon's Fringe daily, Chromie seems upset by what she needs to ask. Because Amber Kearnen's assassination was the catalyst that helped uncover Mathias Shaw's impersonation, it has to happen to keep the true timeline in order.
