New World will get a Season Pass with Amazon’s transition over to a seasonal model later this month. Now, the team is detailing what to expect from all levels of both tiers of the first Season Pass.
Similar to battle passes from other games, New World’s pass will have both a free tier and a premium one. A new devblog goes into more details on the season, and the pass rewards and differences to help the community make a decision on which way they want to go when the first season, Fellowship & Fire , begins next week, on March 28th.
The preview blog lays out what you can expect from the free track, and all the extras from the premium track, divided by levels. What this means is they have reward levels from 1 all the way up to 100 listed out so that you can compare them.
As you go through the reward levels and items, you'll notice that there are some standard items like dyes, Azoth vials, XP boosters, and cosmetics sprinkled throughout both reward levels. Both tracks get weapon gifts and boost items, but the premium track also gets extra items, more packed chests, as well as more Expedition-specific gifts, extra coins, Marks of Fortune, and more. The free track also gets some coins, crafting materials, furniture items, items from chests, including armor, cosmetics, and also some (lower) Marks of Fortune grants.
Premium chests from the reward tracks have a chance to grant some rarer items, and the devblog actually has a FAQ showing the odds of getting the best goods overall from both pass tracks. You will be able to buy levels, or even a “Head Start” pass for +20 levels. Some rewards will be buyable after the season concludes, like the example given of extra gear set slots.
