New World’s Fellowship & Fire update will go live tomorrow, more than a week after the update was delayed due to issues. Amazon Games has released the update notes along with details on expected downtime.
Downtime is set to begin on Tuesday, April 4th at 5:00 AM PT for all regions. Expected downtime is two hours, but the team will update should any of this change .Since this is the beginning of the new season model, this is a very large update, featuring the new Season Pass in both free and premium tiers, with 100 reward levels to chase. The update also means that Season 1 Leaderboards will indeed close.
There’s a new seasonal storyline, “The Silver Crows”, along with some new Main Story questline overhauls, and level 40 armor and weapon quest overhauls. The Silver Crows are a new group that the team briefly introduced in both season announcement previews and in a recent devblog, but now's the chance to get to know them and play out the storyline. As for the Main Story questline, player feedback led to an overhaul intended to improve the Weaver’s Fen and Brightwood regional main questlines, in line with further work on overhauling the game’s New Player Experience.
Fellowship & Fire doesn’t skimp on the fire part either, with both the new Fire Storm Heartrune and the Empyrean Forge Expedition. Fire Storm is the slowest projectile Heartrune, so the team vows it will be different and inspire new strategies.
Also coming in the update are a number of combat balance changes, new gear storage, and a change to alt classification. You’ll have to declare one character as your PvP character, Meaning that only this character can flag for PVP or fight in a War to reduce the use of alts to gain unfair advantages.
