Far Cry 5 and two other games are free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members over the final extended weekend in March 2023. This latest perk of the subscription service was announced shortly after Xbox Game Pass Ultimate started giving away several months' worth of Apple TV+ to its subscribers.
Free Play Days are one of the many benefits of paying for the top tier of Microsoft's game subscription service, which starts at $14.99 per month, but is also available for much less via the Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family plan in select countries. During a typical week, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members are able to try out at least a couple of games from Thursday through Sunday. These extended try-out periods already featured Rainbow Six Siege, WRC Generations, Dead by Daylight, Cities: Skylines, Anno 1800, and a handful of other titles during just this month alone.

But March isn't over yet, and Microsoft appears keen to end it on a high note, having just started yet another iteration of Free Play Days that encompasses Ubisoft's critically acclaimed Far Cry 5, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and Bassmaster Fishing 2022. As per usual, this newest promotional period started on a Thursday, and will run until Sunday, March 26, at 11:59pm PDT. And while not every title made available as part of Free Play Days promos runs a parallel sale, not only is that the case this time around, but the newly introduced discounts are quite deep as well.
More specifically, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members who end up enjoying Far Cry 5 enough to buy it will be able to do so at $8.99 during the promo period, or $13.49 if they want to get their hands on some additional content available
