Mortal Kombat 1 Really Isn't Trying To Hide Sub-Zero Turning Evil

Mortal Kombat 1 hasn't been doing the best job of hiding Sub-Zero's true evil nature as it is, but dialogue between him and some of the newer fighters in the game all but confirms it.

One of the main selling points of Mortal Kombat 1's story is that it's reshaping and reinventing almost every character on the roster in some way or another. Some of them are big like Scorpion now being Kuai Liang instead of Hanzo Hazashi, while others are relatively small like Kenshi working alongside the yakuza.

While it might seem like the big selling point is how different some characters are going to be, it seems like the larger message of the game is that some fighters are destined to end up one way or another, like Shang Tsung once again being evil. The biggest example of this is Bi-Han, this timeline's current Sub-Zero, who originally ended up turning into the evil Noob Saibot in the first timeline.

You might think that being united with his brother in Liu Kang's universe might keep him from straying back to evil, but Mortal Kombat 1 has made it painfully obvious that isn't going to be the case. That's been clear from the very first trailer, but some new intro dialogues that have been shared between Sub-Zero and some recently revealed characters have highlighted the planned "twist" even more. Potential spoilers for Mortal Kombat 1 follow, so keep clear if you're trying to go in (snow) blind.

As shared by YouTuber unCAGEDgamez, Johnny Cage has a few interesting lines of dialogue with Sub-Zero before the two fight. A few of them just serve to show how annoying everyone finds Cage and how done Bi-Han seems with the good guys (such as calling Liu Kang's
