Mortal Kombat 1 fans aren't too impressed with Johnny Cage's unique Jean-Claude Van Damme skin and have already made edits to it that make him more closely resemble the actor.
More than 31 years ago, Ed Boon and John Tobias set out to make a game with legendary martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme, one that didn't end up happening due to scheduling conflicts. That might seem sad, but it led to the creation of the first Mortal Kombat and the start of one of the fighting genre's most popular series. The spirit of Van Damme lived on in Mortal Kombat through one of its most popular characters, Hollywood actor Johnny Cage, who was very clearly a homage to the star of Bloodsport.

Now, 30 years later, things have come full circle in Mortal Kombat 1, which features a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage as part of the premium edition of the game. Not only does the skin change Johnny's clothes to his Mortal Kombat 1 look, but it also swaps his face and voice for Jean-Claude Van Damme.
At least... it's supposed to. NetherRealm gave us our first proper look at the skin through a new trailer that released earlier this week, but some fans aren't too happy about the final product, claiming that it doesn't actually resemble Van Damme all that much and actually looks a little weird for some reason.
Although I was initially a little confused about the amount of hate that's being given to the skin right now, after looking at some comparison photos, it suddenly becomes a bit clearer that the current Jean-Claude skin is a little off and doesn't quite look like the actor.
