The hype for Mortal Kombat 1 is real, so much so, in fact, that player numbers for the last entry in the series, Mortal Kombat 11, have begun to spike dramatically on Steam. Closer to home, the eagerly anticipated Fighter is the most pre-ordered game on the PS Store in both the U.S. and the U.K., even beating out the looming heavyweight that is Diablo 4 for the top spot.
Caught by Redditor fakayuburiza, Mortal Kombat 11 just recorded its highest peak concurrent player count in quite some time, 2019, apparently. It helps that the game is currently cheap as chips on Steam (90% off right now), but still, the desire to play is there!

I've played MK1 on arcades day one, I remember I couldn't believe the graphics and the violence… The first fatality I saw was the sub zero one, grabbing the head with the spine… Awesome.
