There’s much hype surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4, whether due to the strong reviews or the absence of a proper sequel since 2012. Pre-loads are currently available on all platforms, and early access goes live for Ultimate and Deluxe Edition owners later this week. However, there’s one more surprise coming, perDiablo GM Rod Fergusson.
In a new tweet (crafted as if Fergusson meant to post it on Slack), he coyly asks Daniela Rodriguez, the Diablo global marketing director, “Are we still teasing that #DiabloIV thing tomorrow night? People are going to be really surprised so I don’t want to ruin it by talking about it too soon. Just checking…”
There are a few possibilities. A trailer may drop for Season 1, planned to release in mid to late July. A new cinematic trailer could also be revealed, though whether it’s like the incredible announcement trailer remains to be seen. Diablo, the series’ big bad, could be confirmed. Or early access is moved up and begins June 1st instead of June 2nd.
Time will ultimately tell, so stay tuned. Standard Edition owners can play Diablo 4 on June 6th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. If you tried the Server Slam, this is the same build with a few balance changes and bug fixes.
