Developer 4A Games has announced that, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the release of Metro: Last Light, the Complete Edition of the 2013 game is now free to keep on Steam for players. The game will be available for free until May 25.
Alongside the original release becoming free, the updated version—Metro: Last Light Redux—is currently available at a deeply-discounted price of 80% off.
Set in the year 2034, Metro: Last Light largely takes place in the tunnels left behind by the remnants of Moscow’s Metro system. Those who are left surviving are constantly under siege by mutants radiated by a nuclear fallout, and heading to the surface often means death.
The most recent game in the franchise, Metro Exodus, was released back in 2019. As its name might imply, the plot revolves around series protagonist Artyom and his companions leaving the confines of the metro system behind to try and find new life in the world.
