Developer 4A Games decided to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its first-person shooter Metro: Last Light(Opens in a new window) by offering the game for free for a week.
As VGC reports(Opens in a new window), starting today at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7PM CET, anyone with a Steam account will be able to download Metro: Last Light Complete Edition for free. The offer lasts until May 25(Opens in a new window), giving you ample time to add it to your Steam library.
Metro: Last Light is a direct sequel to Metro 2033 and therefore the second installment of the Metro series, which now extends to four releases (2033, Last Light, Redux, and Exodus). Metro Redux consists of remastered versions of the first two games, and Exodus is currently being updated for current-gen consoles along with the promise of a multiplayer component. You may remember Metro 2033 was also offered for free back in 2021.
A post-apocalyptic-themed first-person shooter, Last Light was well-received by critics and scored in the 80's on Metacritic across PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Now anyone who missed it first time around can spend time and no money to enjoy a playthrough. For anyone who already owns the game, there's plenty of other good PC shooters available to play this year.
