Marvel vs. Capcom fans have been pointing out some of the big similarities between Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact and MVC3 and Infinite, which makes sense since they share a developer.
2024 already has a big anime game on the horizon in the form of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, but it's not the only adaptation that has caught everyone's attention. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Eighting, the developers behind Naruto: Clash of Ninja and the modern Marvel vs. Capcom games, was creating a three-versus-three fighter based on Hunter x Hunter.
Just a few days ago, the first gameplay footage of Hunter x Hunter was revealed, which has received a polarising reception depending on how much you care about graphics. Many fans think that it looks like a PS3 game, while hardcore fighting game players have praised how its mechanics look, with some even going hands-on with it and sharing how exciting it is.
Ever since Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact was first announced as a three-versus-three fighter, it's been drawing some inevitable comparisons to Marvel vs. Capcom, one of the genre's most beloved games. This doesn't come as a surprise considering Eighting, the team working on Hunter x Hunter, was also behind Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Infinite.
As it turns out, though, the similarities between Nen Impact and Marvel vs. Capcom go a little deeper than just having the same concept and developer. Many MVC fans pointed out that Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact resembles Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Infinite in a number of ways, from the camera swinging by the characters during the intro to some of the animations being the same.
Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact also uses a mechanic very similar to Marvel vs. Capcom's X-Factor, which is honestly more of a selling point since that was bloody awesome.
