There’s been some back-and-forth on the rumoured release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the more traditional entry in the long-running stealth series. Now it seems Japanese retailers are all aligning around 12th October, with several major online stores adding the date to their product pages overnight. That includes Amazon, Yodobashi, and Bic Camera – they can’t all be wrong!
It’s worth noting, as pointed out by Gematsu, that placeholder dates aren’t all that common in Japan, so it’s likely this sudden swell of updates has stemmed from some kind of official information coming out of publisher Ubisoft. Of course, we’ll need to await confirmation from the French firm on that front, with some speculating the announcement could come as early as the PS Showcase later today.
If nothing’s mentioned during Sony’s livestream, then everything should be official by the time Ubisoft Forward airs on 12th June. We’ll obviously keep our ears close to the ground and update you if we hear anymore, but 12th October does feel like the perfect spot for a major new Assassin’s Creed game. We’re looking forward to more information.

Why do people hate new stuff?
I'll be disappointed if there's anything to do with Assassins Creed at Playstation's showcase.
I know people like them but I'm starting to wonder if the franchise might actually outlive me.
