New details of Intel's next-gen Battlemage GPU which will power the 2024 Arc graphics lineup have been revealed by RedGamingTech. According to the news outlet, the Battlemage GPU is rumored to double the core count of the existing Alchemist GPUs.
Intel has confirmed the development of its next-gen Battlemage GPU on several occasions. These GPUs will be used to power what Intel refers to as the 2nd Gen of Arc discrete graphics cards and also integrated GPUs (though those come much later). We also know that the Battlemage GPUs will be divided into two segments, the Xe2-HPG targeting the high-end discrete and Xe2-LPG targeting the low-end integrated designs.
Now RedGamingTech states that he has access to new slides of Intel's Battlemage GPUs which give us more details regarding its designs. Starting with the specs, the Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs would double the core count of Arc Alchemist GPUs. The Alchemist GPUs peaked out at 32 Xe cores so the Battlemage GPUs will not just pack 64 cores but the newest Xe2 cores. Considering the ALU count is to remain the same, we can expect up to 8192 cores, double that of the Arc A770 (4096 ALUs).
Furthermore, it is mentioned that the Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs will clock much higher which may have to do with the TSMC 4nm node that they utilize. It looks like Intel might once again be using its competitor's (TSMC) process technology to power its GPUs. Intel's Alchemist was also based on the TSMC 6nm process node. The clocks are said to be above 3 GHz which should be at least 600 MHz higher than the Arc A770 Alchemist graphics card (2.4 - 2.5 GHz).
The die size of the GPU is said to be similar to NVIDIA's AD103 which measures 379mm2. This will be slightly smaller than the 406mm2 of the
