The website for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has been taken over by wild Lechonk. The latest mainline entry in the franchise released last year to much success, with plenty of new Pokemon that captured the hearts of trainers across the world. One of the most popular creatures that was introduced in the ninth generation of Pokemon was Lechonk.
Lechonk is a grey and brown Normal-type pig Pokemon that players can find in the Paldea Region. Its simple shape and design is a contributing reason why it’s a fan-favorite, with Lechonk’s popularity overshadowing the Pokemon it evolves into, Oinkologne. This is evident with the amount of fan art and other creations that were made revolving around the little hog in the lead-up before the game’s official release last year. With the fans’ adoration of Lechonk, it’s no surprise to see that it is the subject of an April Fools joke, with a horde of Lechonk currently taking over the website for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to Host Special Distribution Event
Once fans enter Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s official website, their screens will be covered with several images of Lechonk that make it hard to see anything. After a few seconds, they will fall off-screen so fans can read what is on the site, but the sight of it will likely elicit a chuckle from a fan. It doesn’t stop there however, as the legendary mascots have been covered by photos of Lechonk, along with a section of the site dedicated to the new Pokemon found in the Paldea Region only consisting of Lechonk. There are usually 36 different Pokemon being showcased in the section, but all of them only redirect to the Lechonk entry.
