The Fractured Online team decided to revert a few changes from last week’s balance patch, and are also previewing the Endgame Changer patch planned for this month.
Last week, the patch repaired a huge economic glitch where gold and divine reward were generated at very high rates. The team also decided to go ahead and release other balance changes, like raising the difficulty of some mobs and tweaking Summoned Legends. This last part, along with an AoE pull mechanic affecting Ogres, Jotunns, and Legends, have been reverted. Essentially, the pull mechanic, along with the increased spawns, were pulling everything towards a player. Now, you might be able to take on several enemies, but this was extreme.
Other changes were also reverted and the team has decided that they're going to “take a more conservative approach to rebalancing now, changing spells little by little”.
In a new preview of the Endgame Changer update, which is set to be formally unveiled in a devblog later, we get a taste of what we will see, with seven particular jumping off points for changes.
The first point is that all character builds need to have similar requirements in terms of different attributes that they absolutely need but also find utility in all of the other attributes. This way nothing is wasted. Their third and fourth points cover PvP. First, fights should be fun and balances, regardless of size. Fifth, there should be greater incentive to participate in PvP, events, and world challenges over simply farming.
After the update, they aim for greater build freedom for everyone. Similarly, their second point is that enchanting equipment should be important for all player builds, so incentives to enchant are coming. The update will let smaller
