While the single-player aspect of Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon was largely well-received, the game’s multiplayer component was a bit underfed at launch. Thankfully, that’s about to change, as the latest update for AC6 adds ranked online matchmaking, some new PvP maps, additional parts for upgrading and customizing your mech, and more. You can check out a quick trailer for the new update, below.
Are you going to be ascending to the top of the leaderboards? I’m not exactly a mech-building master, so I’ll leave that to the experts. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s included in Armored Core VI update 1.05…
Haven’t been keeping up with AC6? The game is definitely worth checking out, although as Wccftech's Kai Tatsumoto points out in his review, it’s for a fairly specific type of player…
“From Software has created its pinnacle mech-fighting opus with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The faster pace of combat and higher difficulty may deter newcomers from strapping in for the first time, but there’s truly something special at play here. If the pace of Elden Ring leaves you wanting more or you simply want to blow up anything that moves, Armored Core VI’s got a job for you.
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is without a doubt one of From Software's most unique and polished experiences in the last decade. However, there's a certain expectation of AC Pilot skill getting into the cockpit that even making it through until the final chapter requires an established familiarity far above and beyond any Soulslike pedigree.”
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Update 1.05 should be available to download tomorrow (December 19).
