Playground Games' Forza Horizon 5 has reached 40 million players around the globe, it's been revealed.
As spotted on X by 'SnapBlastPLAY', and picked up by known Xbox insider Klobrille, Playground's most recent entry in the Horizon series was played by 40 million players across both Xbox and PC since the game's launch in 2021. Of course, this doesn't mean active players playing the racing game, but those who at least downloaded the game. More details about this stat are unknown, but it's quite impressive nonetheless. Looking at previous reached player numbers from previous years, it's clear that Horizon 5 reaches quite the amount of players each month. Back in November of 2021, shortly after the game's launch, Xbox's Phil Spencer announced that the game reached more than 4.5 million players. Here's what we wrote about the racing game in our launch review back then:
"Forza Horizon 5 is yet another step up for the series and arguably the best racing game ever made", we wrote. "Offering a host of content across a fantastic representation of Mexico, its varied terrain and scenery, there's so much to explore and race. A massive roster of cars will perform all of these, each feeling different from the others, with a variety of upgrade and tuning options almost matching those of simulation titles. While there are a few minor niggles here and there, they are nearly so small as to be hardly worth mentioning. All in all, it's impossible not to recommend this for anybody, regardless of them being a fan of racing games or not, as this is that good."
Forza Horizon 5 is available now worldwide on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The game has been available on Game Pass since day-one.
