Protection Warrior in the War Within
Hero Talents are all the buzz in The War Within and Protection Warrior has access to two Hero Trees that couldn't be more different to each other!
We're going to explore the Ins and Outs of both Mountain Thane and Colossus. Rage generation, Damage, survivability, Execute phase, and potential issues.
Hero Talent Showdown: Mountain Thane vs. Colossus
First off we have Mountain Thane. It was revealed as one of the first Hero Talent Trees in December 2023. Its primary interactions are focused on Thunder Clap and put a real emphasis on Lightning, Thunder, and Rage generation.
With Lightning Strikes and Avatar of the Storm turning Physical Damage into Stormstrike damage you can see and feel the impact of the Hero Tree.
As its counterpart, we have Colossus. This tree focuses on the raw physical prowess of the Warrior without relying on flashy animations. Its core mechanic revolves around Buffing the damage of Demolish, Revenge, and the offensive spending of rage.

Weaknesses
As Mountain Thane grants a lot of free charges of both Shield Slam and Thunder Clap your rage generation is heavily increased. This speeds up the rotation and rage expenditure greatly to feed the Rage Machine
