GSC GameWorld has released the first developer deep dive for STALKER 2, which showcases 30 minutes of gameplay. As it stands, STALKER 2 is one of the most anticipated games for 2024, and it's great to get a glimpse into the game with the new showcase.
STALKER 2 will utilize Unreal Engine 5, which promises to feature stunning, realistic graphics. This game has been in development for quite a while, and the developers released the preliminary PC requirements in 2021. However, it's safe to say that the requirements have probably changed as technology has evolved since then.
STALKER 2 will be available on Steam and will not utilize Denuvo, which gamers truly dislike.
Diving into the nitty gritty of STALKER 2, the game will feature an expansive and immersive world, allowing players to explore a 64-kilometer radioactive zone. There will be plenty of different post-apocalyptic atmospheres for players to explore and mutants to kill and learn about in their survival journey.
For a few of the developers, STALKER 2 hits close to home, as some lived around the real exclusion zone of Chornobyl, which helped inspire the game.
To add an extra level of realism and immersion, players can decide how their story plays out. The story has multiple branches that all lead to different endings. In addition to the atmospheres of the game, STALKER 2 will feature a dynamic day-night cycle and weather system, which can either help or hinder your explorations. The game will feature twenty different regions, each with unique features that make them stand out from each other.
Once the game is out, STALKER 2 will have modding support and a multiplayer mode, which will be added as an update soon after the game is released.
