Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth features new combat mechanics like Synergy Abilities and over-the-top classic elements like Summons, with director Naoki Hamaguchi promising new and returning Summons. After they were revealed at The Game Awards 2023, Titan, Phoenix and Bahamut Arisen have received new details and images.
Titan is Earth-based and uses sheer power to decimate enemies. Phoenix can unleash fiery attacks as it flies around and heals the party. Bahamut Arisen isn’t a new addition to the Remake series but wasn’t present in the original Final Fantasy 7. It excels at close combat and ranged attacks while moving incredibly quick.
There are likely more Summons included in the final game, so stay tuned for more details and potential reveals. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is out on February 29th, 2024, for PS5 (where it’s exclusive for three months). Check out the latest trailer, which showcases the official theme song “No Promises to Keep” and reveals Cid for the first time.
