Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Trailer Confirms The Return Of Roche

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a little over a month away, yet Square Enix isn't quite done teasing us with what's to come. A new trailer for the game was uploaded to the Final Fantasy YouTube channel earlier today, which showed off some never-before-seen fights and once again teased the potential death of a beloved character. However, one eagle-eyed fan spotted an even more important detail - Roche is back.

First shared by Twitter user SubTXT, there's a scene around a third of the way through the new trailer that includes a bunch of soldiers marching down a street in Junon. The camera quickly pans across these soldiers before moving onto the next scene, but right before the cut away, you can see a person on a red bike driving alongside them, most likely either delivering orders or trying to get past them.

If you're familiar with Roche, you'll know that he doesn't really go anywhere without his trusty red motorbike, even going so far as to fight with it and stand near it during his brief appearance in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade DLC.

Sure, there could be another soldier other than Roche with a red motorbike out there in the world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but you'll struggle to find many others with a massive blonde quiff, which you can just about make out if you look closely. It's difficult to imagine this mystery rider being anyone other than Roche, so it'll be nice to see him and Cloud potentially come to blows again if he has a large part to play.

Speaking of returning characters, we all know that Zack will more than likely play quite a significant role in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth now that he's not actually dead thanks to some wibbly wobbly timeline shenanigans. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi pretty much said as much in a recent interview, claiming that Zack will be "immensely important" to the story and will play a "crucial" role in the events of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
