Skull and Bones is (finally) getting close to release on February 16th. Now, the latest edition of Ubisoft’s “Echoes of History” podcast, titled “Gangsters of the Seas” gets a first episode, featuring actress Michelle Rodriguez.
“You think you know pirates? Well, think again,” Rodriguez says in a teaser for the podcast. The project looks to tell real historically-based stories about pirates.
The Echoes of History podcast was first used by Ubisoft to tell stories about places, people, and happenings linked to their Assassin’s Creed franchise releases, including the most recent, Mirage. Now, it seems that pirates will get their turn.
The first episode is live now via all major podcast platforms, and it seems like the team is hoping this will whet your appetite to become the next big legend of the season when Skull and Bones makes its debut. After several delays, Ubisoft seems prepared to go.
The first episode description lets us know what we’re in for:
“At the end of the 17th century, pirates scoured the warm seas of the Caribbean. When this corner of the world became too small for these restless bandits, one man looked towards the East… Thomas Tew, a former privateer, was one of the first pirates to set sail for the Indian Ocean. Lured by gold, spices, and precious stones transported in the holds of Mughal ships, Tew embarked on a new sailing route, the «Pirate Round». A route wrought with determination… and blood.”
It's just the first episode, and the team hasn't revealed how many they are planning. Still, if you’ve enjoyed the podcast in the past when it covered all things AC, or even missed out on that one and want to start now, visit the Echoes of History podcast.
