We must admit, Granblue Fantasy: Relink's release date had us worried for a while. The action RPG — which we awarded a rock solid 8/10 in our review — launched just a day before the heavily marketed Persona 3 Reload, and just a week after the highly rated Tekken 8 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It felt like a bit of a suicide mission, but Relink's actually managed to do well for itself — especially given the circumstances.
Indeed, Relink's racked up more than 1 million sales in under two weeks (retail and digital copies included, worldwide). We don't really know what level of success Cygames had been targeting, but that's got to be considered some kind of win.

The developer has stated that Relink will not follow a live service model despite its leanings towards online play — but it will be getting at least three big updates in the relatively near future. The first is due in early March, the second in April, and the third in May. They'll add «a new quest, new playable characters, and other surprises». It'll be interesting to see if Relink remains popular as these updates arrive.

Hoping to pick this up at the weekend, so one million and one copies!
Really looking forward to venturing into this one!
I don't understand the appeal. There are a million other anime games similar to this one. There is even less new stuff here than in a brand new AC game. Anime fans are probably the easiest demographic to please.
