Tarnished can either cross through the Ainsel River Sluice Gate's lift or enter the Queen Ant's lair in to reach the Ainsel River Downstream Grace point.
Those not pursuing Ranni's questline will need to defeat the Valiant Gargoyle Duo to access the Siofra Aqueducts leading to the Nokstella area. You will have to defeat Starscorgue Radahn first before you can take this shortcut.
After getting past the hostile Clayman mobs, stay near the small ridge to avoid being hit by the Malformed Star's meteorites. After reaching a small ant nest in the west, head directly north to arrive at the Dragonkin's boss cave.
