Capcom has detailed some of its planned updates for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
In a tweet on the game’s official X account, a list of updates planned for “the near future” was provided.
This includes the ability to start a new game when existing save data is already present, something players have complained isn’t currently possible.
It also changes the number of Art of Metamorphosis items available to buy at Pawn Guilds to 99.
These items allow the player to change their character’s appearance, but are currently quite scarce. Players can buy one with microtransactions, a move which led to some accusing Capcom of putting character editing partially behind a paywall.
The console versions of the game will also be getting options to toggle motion blur and ray tracing, as well as the option to set the game’s frame rate to either Variable (which it currently is), or to a 30fps cap.
The game currently has an uncapped frame rate, which means it can sometimes go under or over 30 frames per second depending on the situation.
Even though an uncapped frame rate can sound good on paper, a game whose frame rate is constantly changing can also result in juddery, inconsistent pacing, which can be distracting. By adding a 30fps lock, players will be able to get a more consistent level of performance.
The full list of planned updates is as follows:
