@LtSarge well it worked for me anyway, I liked the context it brought for Connor’s plight… as well as the nice little twist at the end of the intro.
@CaptD I’m a firm believer in a gamers mood and expectations going in to a game, having a massive bearing on how its received. I’ve returned to loads of games that I initially hated and had a really good time. It always makes me recoil a little when I see people firmly refuse to give something a second go due to their initial experience.

@colonelkilgore Hated the opening sequences and playing as haytham and then finally getting to connor only to have to wait even longer to become an assassin; with that said though AC3 is one of my fav AC games & always has been. I personally loved the brutality and gruesome combat, the advanced game engine, hunting, open world forest, desmonds segments were pretty fun, characters were cool, the multiplayer, and how brawn connor was.
so much made up for the slow start & i was initially shocked and upset when i found out how hated the game was by people online
Just played through the modern-day mission at a stadium holding an MMA event. Now that’s the kind of Desmond content I’ve been waiting for since AC1… shame he dies at the end of this one now that he’s finally started having some interesting material.

I've only recently finished the Ezio trilogy, so I passed on Mirage — it seemed too similiar (especially to Revelations) and I wasn't up for more of the same. But I might try it in the future, when I again feel like I miss the «old» AC.
